Within sight of our sawmill and home town

Here’s another sight to lift the spirits. It’s taken at Bury Ditches, home to one of the best-preserved hill forts in the country which dates from around 500BC. It’s located within sight of the mill, deep in the beautiful Shropshire hills.

Bishop’s Castle and the Mill are at bottom left, then following the hills round we see Cordon Hill, Stiperstones, and Long Mynd. The picture was taken yesterday while our Operations Director took his permitted exercise. The limitations of file size mean you can’t get the full benefit of the picture here so take a look at a bigger version by downloading it here

The Forestry Commission holding which stood behind where the picture was taken (and which you can see in the picture slider on our home page) has now been harvested providing much needed income for the Government. Guess where the logs finished up!
