ABOUT US

Committed to environmental responsibility

At Ransfords, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously. Not only do we employ sustainable practices, we also own 2,000 acres of woodland, storing an estimated 386,000 tonnes of CO². And our timber products continue to lock away carbon even after they leave our yard.

The power of the sun

Over 4,000 solar panels on our site generate more than 1.2MW of clean electricity each year, helping to power our milling operations with the energy that grew our timber in the first place.

Sustainable sourcing

By sourcing timber locally, we not only reduce our carbon footprint but also support responsible woodland management practices that protect biodiversity and ensure the long-term health of our forests.

Zero waste

Every bit of the 35,000 m³ of residues generated from sawn timber production gets utilised for a range of different markets, from horticultural to biomass and equestrian surfacing ensuring no part of the tree gets wasted.

A greener future

We strive to continually reduce carbon impact across our harvesting, processing and distribution operations. As our forests grow (absorbing around 1 tonne of CO₂ per cubic metre), they also create jobs and support thriving rural communities.
